Conceived as a hospitality retreat woven into the Cabo landscape, Solaz is organised as a series of terraces stepping down towards the sea, ensuring that every room maintains a direct relationship with the water. The project reads as an extension of the terrain, with the architecture following the natural slope to maximise views and the connection with the horizon.

Native, low-impact planting surrounds and runs through the project, reinforcing a sense of place and allowing nature to be present at every scale. Pathways, outdoor rooms and shared spaces are shaped by topography, light and breeze, creating an experience that feels open yet rooted in its surroundings.
Solaz is experienced as a sequence of serene, layered spaces rather than as a single object. Here, hospitality is defined by proximity to nature, framed views and an atmosphere that invites pause, openness and an ongoing relationship with the landscape.

The cape’s signature granite sea-arches (El Arco) are part of the Peninsular Ranges Batholith / Los Cabos Block, creating granitic headlands and sandy coastal plains.

Solaz steps down the mountainside to guarantee uninterrupted sea views from every room and residence. Rather than imposing itself on the site, the architecture adapts to the topography through stepped volumes that preserve both privacy and openness. Each terrace extends the living space outdoors, establishing a continuous relationship with the horizon.

The Westin Regina Los Cabos, built in 1994, was Sordo Madaleno's first hotel in the region. Like Solaz, its design follows the site's topography, stepping down the hillside toward the sea.
